Abstract
Life-death is a condition of life and a universal life phenomenon that is inevitable for us. The value of life depends on the attitude to this phenomenon. At this point in the aging society, more philosophical reflection is needed to illuminate the life of old age. The aging journey involves not only the confusion of physical, emotional and mental disagreement with oneself who has lived, but also the experience of dissonance with oneself defined by the social gaze based on ageism. The social isolation and aging emotion of the elderly are the factors that press on the total ego and harm the peace. I try to connect with the specific philosophical reason in the process of seeking the inner agony and healing of old age. This essay is a hermeneutical attempt to seek the way in Ricoeur 's narrative hermeneutics that leads to self comprehension by dialectically integrating idem and ipse through narrative. In old age, he confronts a stranger himself. It is defined by the physical change that can not be reversed, the maladjustment to the social change which makes the pace, the dull feeling, and the gaze of others. These are the circumstances in which an aging human is forced to get in, and concrete experiences that have been experienced. Ricoeur's narrative identity is not an sameness( idem ) but a new interpreter self( ipse ). Self includes the otherness. A self-composed dynamic identity that acknowledges the otherness within me is a narrative identity. To be wise with age is to get a new narrative, but here it is necessary to make an effort to continue the self-interpretation.
