한국 전통 문화콘텐츠의 디자인 형상성 연구 - 의식주(衣食住) 생활용품을 중심으로 -

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the formative properties of traditional Korean housewares as objects of cultural contents. The scope of the traditional cultural co ntents contemplated in this study is limited to the house ware goods related to clothing, foods, and housing. The study methods involved processes of explaining the relationships between cultural contents and designs and compared them with the concepts of modern designs. Also in this study, the linguistic properties of the desig n Feature-in-Form, the process of identifying such prope rties and their roles were explained, and the concepts of these design Feature-in-Form were applied to the design cases of traditional houseware goods and modern design s, with a view to perform formative interpretation of the cultural contents. With this study, Culture is the ultimate representation of a life style. the researcher aimed to examine the creati ve potential of Korea’s traditional houseware as cultural contents and confirm that the formative values of the tra dition has a trait that can be applied to the modern societ y, as well. Also, the researcher intended to emphasize tha t design concepts are essential conditions that complete the final outcomes of the cultural contents and important factors that develop the creative superiority of Korean tra ditional cultural contents. It was confirmed that the traditional properties of Kore a contained formative properties that can be relevant to modern designs, and the identification and endowment of meanings to the design Feature-in-Form increases the in tegrity of and development potential of cultural contents, while it was explained that it establishes a Korean desig n identify and functions as an opportunity through which the superiority of the traditional cultural heritage can be re-recognized.
