Abstract
The purpose of this study was to explore the impact of filial care motive on care burden of caregiver. The data was gathered 149 caregivers, using structured questionnaires. The overall level of care burden of caregivers was middle point in the scale, but the level of filial care motive was higher than middle point in the scale. Care motive and ADL of elderly had significant relationships with care burden. The level of the ADL of elderly, care motive, and health status of caregiver had significant impact on the care burden. The results obtained from this study confirmed that the care motive attitude played an important role in terms of explaining the level of care burden. But interesting finding was that the relationship between the care motive attitude and the level of care burden was different according to the level of the ADL of elderly and health status of caregiver. Finally, It could be suggested that public health insurance must include the caregiver's motive, health status and ADL of elderly.
