체육 분야 성(性)평등 연구 동향 분석: 사회학적 관점에서 바라보기

본 연구는 체육 분야 성(性)평등 연구 동향을 사회학적 관점에서 비판적으로 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여, 토픽모델링을 연구 분석 기법으로 활용하였으며, ‘체육’, ‘스포츠’, ‘성평등’, 그리고 ‘성인지’를 주요 키워드로 하여 국내 체육 분야에서 해당 주제로 논의가 시작된 이후 모든 학술연구 자료를 분석대상으로 설정하였다. 해당 키워드를 적용한 토픽모델링 결과는 총 5가지 상위범주(스포츠 성문화 개선을 위한 노력, 여성의 스포츠분야에서의 활동, 학교체육에서의 성, 생물학적 성차에서 비롯된 사회문화적 성, 외부요인에 의한 성인지 변화)로 도출되었다. 이러한 연구의 결과로, 첫 번째와 두 번째 범주에서는 체육학계에서 다양한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있음에도 불구하고 제도적 장치의 마련으로 연계되지 못하고 있음을 시사하였다. 세 번째 범주는 학교체육 일선에서 학생들과 소통에 앞장서는 교사 및 지도자의 성인지 감수성 인식 제고를 위한 논의가 필요함을 제언하였다. 마지막 두 범주에서는 생물학적 성인 남성과 여성에 초점을 맞춘 연구양상에서 벗어나 사회·문화적으로 정의되고 있는 다양한 성에 대한 논의가 활발히 이루어질 필요가 있음을 시사함과 더불어 체육 분야 성인지 범위 확장을 위해서는 성인지 연구 스펙트럼을 확대할 필요가 있음을 제언하며 연구를 마무리 하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to conduct a critical analysis of research trends like gender equality in the field of physical education from a sociological perspective. To this end, topic modeling was applied as a research analysis technique. The keywords of this study are ‘physical education,’ sports,‘ ’gender equality’ and ‘gender awareness’ and all the academic research data after starting the discussion about the topic in the field of domestic physical education were fixed as the target of analysis. The topic modeling results that applied the keyword were derived into 5 upper categories (efforts to improve sexual culture in sports, female activities in the field of sports, gender in school physical education, sociocultural gender that begins from biological gender differences, changes in gender awareness due to external factors). The research findings implied that the first and second categories are not associated with the provision of institutional strategies although various research is actively conducted in the field of physical education. The third category suggested the necessity of discussing the enhancement of the sensibility of gender awareness in teachers and leaders who initiate communication with students on the front line of physical education at schools. The final two categories implied the need to actively discuss various forms of gender defined socially and culturally by diverging from the patterns of research focused on biological male and female adults. In addition, this study concluded by suggesting the need to expand the spectrum of gender awareness research to extend the scope of gender awareness in the field of physical education.
