교육자로서의 일립 강태국의 생애가 기독교학교교육에 주는 적용점 연구

한국기독교대학의 신학 계열 학과들이 존립에 있어서 위기를 맞이하고 있다. 오늘날 이와 같은 기독교 대학의 신학 관련 학과들이 겪는 존립의 위기 속에서 이 상황을 타개할 수 있는 방안을 한국성서대학교의 설립자인 故 일립(一粒) 강태국 박사의 교육자로서의 여정과 교육사상에서 찾아보았다. 이 연구를 통해 코로나 발발 이후 더 깊어져 가는 기독교에 대한 반감과 교회의 지속적인 쇠퇴, 신학자원자들의 급감이라는 이 위기의 상황 속에서 기독교학교들이 존속할 뿐 아니라 건강하게 성장하기 위해서는 다음과 같은 점을 유념해야 함이 밝혀졌다. 첫째, 비전을 가진, 헌신 된 리더가 세워져야 한다. 기독교 학교들에 교회의 후원이 충분하게 들어오고, 입학하고자 하는 학생들이 끊이지 않을 때는 관리형 리더만으로도 학교는 존속 성장할 수 있다. 하지만 지금과 같은 위기의 시대에는 이 상황을 타개할 비전을 가진, 헌신된 리더들이 필요하다. 둘째, 기독교 학교는 교육 성과로 스스로의 존재 의의를 지속적으로 세상과 교회에 보여주어야 한다. 이를 위해서 학교가 당면하고 있는 어려움 속에서도 지속적으로 훌륭한 교수들을 충원하여야 한다. 준비된 교수진들을 통해서 실력을 갖춘 졸업생들이 배출될 수 있다. 셋째, 기독교 대학의 존립을 위해서 각 대학들은 지역 교회들과의 긴밀한 연계를 추진해야 한다. 기독교 대학들은 지역 교회에서 섬길 사역자들을 배출하고, 지역 교회는 그 학교들을 신실하게 후원할 때, 교회는 현재의 위기를 돌파할 수 있을 것이고, 기독교 학교는 건강하게 성장하는 선순환이 일어나게 될 것이다.
Abstract
Theological departments of Korean Christian universities are facing a crisis in their existence. Today, in the crisis of existence of theology-related departments of Christian universities, the researcher looked for a way to overcome this situation in the educational thought of the late Dr. Kang Tae-guk, the founder of Korea Bible University. Since the outbreak of the corona virus, the antipathy towards Christianity has deepened. Korean church continues to decline. The number of applicants to enter the theological departments is rapidly decreasing. In this crisis situation, Christian universities should keep in mind the following points in order to not only survive but also grow healthy. First, visionary, committed leaders must be selected to serve the universities. When church sponsorship pours into Christian schools, and students who want to enter those schools do not stop, the schools can survive and grow with only a managerial leader. But in times of crisis like this, we need committed leaders with a vision to turn the tide. Second, Christian universities must continuously show the world and the church the significance of their existence through educational achievements. To this end, despite the difficulties the universities are facing, they must continuously recruit excellent professors. Graduates with skills can be produced through the prepared faculty. Third, for the existence of the Christian universities, each university should promote close cooperation with local churches. The Christian universities ought to produce ministers to serve in the local churches, and the local churches must faithfully support the universities. Then the churches will be able to break through the current crisis, and the Christian universities will be able to grow healthily.
