Abstract
This study examined how news users perceive news participation and use experiences on KBS YouTube channel “Comment Reading Journalists”, based on the concept of “journalism as a conversation” that recognizes and listens to citizens who are news users as conversation partners. An online survey was conducted on 787 peoples who had experience writing comments on portal site KBS News, group who had experience writing comments on YouTube’s “KBS News” channel, and group who had experience writing comments on KBS YouTube’s “Comment Reading Journalists.” As a result of the study, reporters, who are news producers, thought that reporters and users would actively interact with comments in the “Comment Reading Journalists” that listen to and approve comments, and evaluated the quality of comments, and the inducement of comments more positively than the two groups. The group that has experience writing comments in “Comment Reading Journalists” showed higher efficacy and intention to use news comments than the two groups. In the comment writing experience of “Comment Reading Journalists,” it was found that the perception of reporter interaction with news comments had a strong effect on the perception of news comment efficacy, and news credibility (journalists and news) perception.
