본 연구는 유아의 사회정서발달 지원을 위한 유아용 인공지능 모델 개발에 대한 부모의 기대 및 요구를 탐구하였다. 이를 위해 서울·경기지역의 유치원과 어린이집에 재원하는 만 3~5세 유아의 부모 10명을 대상으로 총 20회의 개별면담을 실시하였다. 면담을 통해 도출된 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모들은 인공지능 모델 개발이 자녀의 사회정서 발달을 지원하여 양육 부담을 덜어주고, 부모에게 육아 정보 및 자기성찰의 기회를 제공하며, 자녀의 슬픔이나 속상함 등의 불편한 감정을 표현할 수 있는 공간이 될 것으로 기대하였다. 둘째, 부모들은 개발되는 인공지능모델에는 자녀들이 인공지능에 지나치게 의존하지 않도록 하는 조절 기능, 자신의 속마음을 표현할 수 있는 친구 역할 기능 및 쉽게 다가갈 수 있는 친근한 외양을 갖추기를 요구하였다. 또한 부모들이 자녀의 올바른 발달을 도울 수 있도록 솔루션 제공 등의 피드백을 받기를 요구하였다. 본 연구는 자녀의 인공지능 사용을 가장 가까이에서 지켜보고 인공지능 활용에 중요한 영향을 미치는 부모를 통해 인공지능 모델 개발에 대한 기대 및 개발 과정에서 반영되어야할 요구 등을 이해하였다는 데 의의가 있다. 이를 통해 유아의 사회정서발달을 지원하는 유아용 인공지능 모델 개발의 바람직한 방안을 마련하는 데 기초 자료로 활용되기를 기대한다.
Abstract
This study explored parents' expectations and demands regarding the development of an artificial intelligence(AI) model for supporting the social-emotional development of young children. For this study, 10 parents of children aged 3 to 5 years, attending kindergartens and daycare centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi, were interviewed through a total of 20 individual interviews. The findings derived from the interviews are as follows: First, parents expected that the development of an AI model to support children's social-emotional development, thereby to alleviate the burden of parenting, provide information on child-rearing, offer opportunities for self-reflection, and create spaces for children to express uncomfortable emotions such as sadness or frustration. Second, parents demanded that the AI model be designed with functions that prevent children from becoming overly dependent on it, act as a friend to encourage the expression of their true feelings, and feature a friendly and approachable appearance. Additionally, parents desired to receive feedback, such as solutions, to better support their children's healthy development. The significance of this study lies in understanding the expectations and demands related to AI model development from parents, who are the closest observers of their children's use of AI and play a critical role in influencing its use. The findings are expected to serve as foundational data for establishing effective strategies in developing AI models aimed at supporting young children's socio-emotional development.
