포스트모더니즘의 확산과 디지털 기록의 등장에 따른 정보혁명은 기록에 대한 사회적 인식의 커다란 변화를 가져왔다. 기록의 저변확대는 물론 기록을 '보존'이라는 물리적 대상에서 '이용'과 '활용'의 다양한 방법론을 통해 사회적 산물로서의 커다란 인식 전환이 이루어진 것이다. 이러한 변화는 사회 전 분야에 걸쳐 다양한 담론을 형성하였고 각 분야에서는 지금도 혁신을 위한 노력이 지속되고 있다. 기록학계와 아카이브즈, 아키비스트는 좀 더 직접적이고 급격한 변화에 대응하기 위해 더 많은 노력을 기울여 왔다. 그러나 기록학계를 중심으로 수많은 담론들이 형성되고 있지만 실천적인 관점에서는 사회의 혁신속도를 따라잡기에는 여전히 미흡한 부분이 많다. 이러한 상황에는 기록에 대한 인식의 변화를 체감하고 이해하면서도 실천에 있어서는 '본질'이 아닌 '표면'적인 부분의 변화만을 수용하고 있는 차이가 반복되고 있기 때문이다. 본고에서는 사회적 변화에 따른 기록의 새로운 의미를 다시 한 번 정리해보며 시대적 요구에 부응하느 ㄴ아카이브즈와 아키비스트의 역할에 대해 인터페이스 관점을 도입하여 한층 발전적인 방법론을 모색하고 소개하고자 한다.
Abstract
With the expansion fo postmodernism and the appearance of digital records, information revolution brought about a significant change in social recognition of records. Not only did ti expand the base of records, but also singificantly transformed the way records were perceived, from a physical subject of record 'preservation' to a social product of record 'utilization' and 'application' through various methodology. Such transition created a diverse discourse amongst all social fields, and there are ongoing efforts in each field to continue the revlolution. In paricular, the academia of archival studies, archives, and archivists had to focus harder to respond to the direct changes. Although there is much discourse regarding the relvolution, from a practical view point, it simply cannot catch up to the speed in which the social revolution is progressing. The main reason being that although the academia in general feel and understand the change in social recognition of records, in practice, only the changes on the 'surface' and not the 'essence' itself is being embraced, repetitively. The present thesis attempts to revies the new meaning of records in light of social change, seek a more developed interface methodology for archives and archivists that meet the current social demands, and introduce the findings thereof.
