구장산술음의에 비추어본 한자의 독음에 관한 논의

동양은 한자문화권에 속하기 때문에 고대의 서적들은 한자로 쓰여 있다. 한국, 중국, 일본의 동양 3국의 근대 이전의 산술서적도 예외 없이 한자로 쓰여 있다. 본 논문은 고전 산서에 사용된 한자의 독음이 현행 한글과 현대 중국어 발음에 얼마나 잘 맞는지를 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 위해 당나라 이적(李籍)이 구장산술에 사용된 용어에 대한 사전적 책자로 편찬한 구장산술음의를 분석한다.
Abstract
Ancient books from East Asia, especially, Korea, China and Japan, are all written in Chinese. Ancient mathematical books like 九章算術(Gujang Sansul in Korean sound, Jiuzhang Suanshu in Chinese) is not exceptional and also was written in Chinese. The book 九章算術音義(Gujang Sansul Eumeui in Korean, Jiuzhang Suanshu Yinyi in Chinese), a dictionary-like book on 九章算術 was published by official 李籍(Lǐ Jí) of 唐(Tang) dynasty (AD 618--907). We discuss how to pronounce Chinese characters based on 九章算術音義. To do so, we compare the pronunciation of the characters used in the words which are explained in 九章算術音義, to those of the current Korean and Chinese. Surprisingly, the pronunciations of the Chinese characters are almost all accordant with those of both Korean and Chinese.
