아르헨티나 헤네랄 구에메스지역은 약 5억 톤의 철광석이 매장되어 있는 것으로 보고되고 있다. 부존되어 있는 철광석의 부존특성, 광물학적 특성 그리고 품위향상 가능성을 확인하기 위한 조사를 실시한 결과, 광상의 철 매장량은 최고 연장 3km와 폭 20m로 추정했을 경우 2개 철광층에 대한 최대 매장량은 약 2억 4천만 톤 정도로 추정할 수 있다. 그러나, 개발을 위한 광업권의 확보를 위해서는 보다 세밀한 조사와 품위를 높일 수 있는 기술 개발이 필요하다.
Abstract
It is reported that there are rich deposits of iron ore estimated as about 500 million ton within General Guemes district in Argentina. As a result of the investigation to confirm the occurrence characteristics, mineralogical features and possibility of grade enhancement of iron ore, the reserves of iron is estimated as about 240 million tons on two iron formations which assumes the maximum extension of 3km and width of 20m. However, in order to secure the mining right, technological development for grade enhancement with detailed investigation is needed.
