교육실습이 중등 예비교사들의 직업성숙과 지식·학습관에 미치는 영향
(The effects of secondary school teaching practicum on student teachers’ career maturity and knowledge/learning attitudes)

본 연구는 교육실습이 실제로 예비교사들의 역량을 높이는지를 확인하기 위해, 전북의 K 대학 중등 교직과정이 운영하는 교육실습의 8년 간 효과를 점검하였다. 연도별로 각각 74(2017), 47(2018), 55(2019), 54(2020), 47(2021), 40(2022), 41(2023), 30(2024) 명으로, 총 388명의 실습생을 대상으로, 진로선택성숙도와 진로결정효능감 및 지식‧학습관을 측정하는 사전검사를 매년 교육실습 개시 최대 3주 이전에, 그리고 사후 검사를 교육실습 종료 최대 5주 이내에 실시하였다. 대체로 거의 모든 변인과 하위요인의 평균값에서 사전에 비해 사후에 더 높게 나타났다. 그러나 대응T검증 결과는 8년 기간 중 일부 해에서만 유의한 차이를 보였다. 8년 인원을 합산한 경우, 세 변인 모두에서 사후가 사전의 평균값에 비해 유의하게 높았다. 연도 별 분석 결과, 진로선택성숙도에서는 4개 연도, 진로결정효능감에서는 3개 연도 그리고 지식‧학습관에서는 2개 연도에서, 사전 대비 사후 평균값이 유의하게 높았다. 본 연구의 다년 간 누적 자료 분석의 결과는, 교육실습이 중등 예비교사들의 직업적 준비도와 성숙도를 높이며, 학습지도에 기초가 되는 교육적 인식의 향상을 이룬다는 점을 안정적으로 시사한다.
Abstract
This study examined the effects of the teaching practicum conducted by the K University secondary teacher training program in Jeonbuk over an eight-year period, aiming to determine whether the practicum actually enhances the competencies of prospective teachers. Each year, the number of participants was as follows: 74(2017), 47(2018), 55(2019), 54(2020), 47(2021), 40(2022), 41(2023), and 30(2024), totaling 388 student teachers. Pre-tests measuring career choice maturity, career decision-making self-efficacy, and knowledge/learning attitudes were conducted no more than three weeks before the start of the practicum, and post-tests were conducted within five weeks after its completion. Generally, the average post-practicum scores of all variables and almost all sub-factors were higher compared to pre-practicum scores. However, the results of paired t-tests showed significant differences in only some years during the eight-year period. When the data was aggregated over the eight years, the post-practicum averages were significantly higher than the pre-practicum averages for all three variables. Yearly analysis indicated that career choice maturity showed significant improvements in four years, career decision-making self-efficacy in three years, and knowledge/learning attitudes in two years, comparing pre- and post-practicum averages. The analysis of cumulated data over the years reliably suggests that the teaching practicum enhances the professional readiness and maturity of secondary teacher candidates, as well as improving their educational awareness, which forms the basis for instructional guidance.
