This paper aims to Challenges of Sustainable Tourism in the World Heritage Town of Luang Prabang and the Engagement of Local Stakeholders, with a focus on SDG 11, Sustainable Cities and Communities. Using qualitative research methods, interviews were conducted with organizations in Luang Prabang city. The study emphasizes the interconnectedness of SDG 11 with SDG 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth, as well as the social goals of SDG 5 on Gender Equality and SDG 4 on Quality Education, which further fosters economic growth. The study also presents local planning processes that balance the needs of citizens for the SDGs with the desires of visitors and tourists to Luang Prabang. Additionally, specific local targets and indicators for some of the SDG goals are identified.
