프로세스 마이닝 기반의 프로세스 혁신 지식 발견과 진단: 전자결재 업무를 중심으로

다양한 디바이스(엑스레이 장비와 자기공명촬영장치 등)와 전사 어플리케이션(전사적자원관리 시스템, 고객관계관리 시스템, 그룹웨어 등)이 데이터의 폭발적인 성장을 이끌고 있다. 프로세스 마이닝은 이러한 디바이스와 전사 어플리케이션이 남긴 업무 수행에 관한 로그 데이터(이벤트 로그)를 분석해서 프로세스 혁신 지식(프로세스 모델, 프로세스 성과 정보, 병목지점, 위반사례 등)을 발견하고, 프로세스를 진단하는데 활용될 수 있다. 프로세스 마이닝의 산업 활용 사례가 전 세계적으로 증가하고 있으나, 국내 산업에 적용된 사례가 드물고 관련 방법론이 견고하지 못한 상황이다. 이러한 한계점을 극복하기 위해서 본 연구는 전사 어플리케이션 중의 하나인 전자결재 시스템의 로그 데이터를 분석하여 전재결재 업무에 관한 프로세스 지식 발견과 진단을 위한 프로세스 마이닝 기반의 방법론을 제안하고자 한다. 제안된 방법론은 국내 M대학교의 전자결재 업무에 대한 진단 사례를 통해서 검증된다. 본 연구의 결과는 IT 시장조사기관인 IDC가 예측한 빅 데이터(big data)의 폭발적인 성장 환경에서 국내 민간과 공공분야가 프로세스 혁신 지식의 발견을 통해서 새로운 기회를 찾는데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 한계점과 향후 연구방향이 토론된다.
Abstract
A variety of devices(e.g., X-ray device & MRI) and enterprise applications (e.g., ERP & CRM) have resulted in explosive data growth. Process mining can be utilized to discover process innovation knowledge from event logs produced by the devices and applications, and to diagnose process based on the discovered knowledge. Although the industrial application of process mining has increased globally, its application examples to home industries are rare. To address this knowledge void, this study attempts to propose a methodology for electronic approval process knowledge discovery and diagnostics based on process mining. The case study of university electronic approval process demonstrates the applicability of our methodology. The research results are likely to help private and public organizations seize new opportunities in the age of big data. Finally the limitation and future direction of this paper are discussed.
