Abstract

Today, we have a lot of movies even in a day from many countries mostly show developed graphic skills and stimulating visual images. They can afford to make peoples exciting and being addicted to movies, but those are not enough functions of film as art. Although, Otar Iosseliani, one of the Georgian directors, has made films without much Computer Graphics or spoken languages. Instead of those, his films include our everyday life and philosophical questions about this world. Those Characteristics originated from Georgian history and traditions which considers basic instincts and nature of human being. However, at the first moment to watch his movies, it is difficult to understand for audiences because of its deeply-veiled metaphors. For it was not allowed to express real condition and feeling around the society on the surface of arts in those days, directors should have use their own languages of image. In many of his films, Otar Iosseliani usually put the styles of documentary and feature film together. And also, he wants to show our real life though allegories and satires. In this part, he has been influenced from Russia-Soviet directors. It is a valuable try for people who has got diseased in contemporary society to see oneself directly. Otar Iosseliani could help them to find themselves and the truth of lives though his films. Because he is one of the greatest directors who wants to make film as real-life.
