반려동물 사육경험이 초등학생의 과학에 대한 흥미 및 생명존중인식에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 초등학생의 반려동물 사육 경험을 알아보고, 반려동물의 사육경험이 초등학생의 과학에 대한 흥미 및 생명존중인식에 미치는 영향을 조사하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 P광역시에 있는 초등학교 3곳의 5, 6학년 학생들을 대상으로 표집하였으며, 그 중 불성실한 응답을 제외하고 실제로 분석에 포함된 참여자 수는 총 310명이었다. 본 연구를 달성하기 위해 반려동물 사육경험을 과거에 사육경험 없음, 과거에 경험한 적이 있음, 현재 사육하고 있음으로 나누어 분석하였다. 측정 도구로는 과학에 대한 흥미 검사지와 생명존중인식 검사지를 사용하였다. 집단 간의 차이를 알아보기 위해 SPSS 통계처리 프로그램을 이용하여 일원분산분석(one-way ANOVA)을 실시하였다. 본 연구를 통해 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 반려동물의 사육경험에 따른 과학에 대한 흥미는 유의미한 차이를 보였으며 현재 반려동물을 사육 중인 학생의 과학에 대한 흥미가 가장 높으며 과거 반려동물의 사육경험이 있는 학생, 반려동물을 사육한 경험이 없는 학생 순으로 낮았다. 둘째, 반려동물의 사육경험에 따른 생명존중인식은 유의미한 차이를 보였으며, 현재 반려동물을 사육 중인 학생의 생명존중인식이 가장 우수하며 과거 반려동물의 사육경험이 있는 학생, 반려동물을 사육한 경험이 없는 학생 순으로 낮았다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of experience breeding companion animal on elementary school students' interest in science, respectful recognition for life, and creative personality. For this purpose, 5th and 6th grade students from 3 elementary schools in P metropolitan city were sampled. Excluding the insincere responses, the number of participants actually included in the analysis was 310. In order to achieve this study, the experience of breeding companion animals was analyzed by dividing them into no previous breeding experience, experienced in the past, and currently breeding. As measurement tools, interest in science, life esteem test, and creative personality test were used. One-way ANOVA was performed using SPSS statistical processing program to find out the differences between groups. The results obtained through this study are as follows. First, the interest in science according to the breeding experience of companion animals showed a significant difference, and the students who are currently raising companion animals have the highest interest in science. It was the lowest in the order of students without experience breeding companion animal. Second, there was a significant difference in the perception of respect for life according to the experience of breeding companion animals, and the students who are currently raising companion animals have the highest awareness of respect for life. It was the lowest in the order of students without experience breeding companion animal.
