Abstract
This paper analyses on the reform for improving the soundness of the china's "big four" state-owned commercial banks and it's results. Chinese government really started the reform for improving the soundness of the "big four" state-owned commercial banks since 1998. The reform for improving the soundness of the "big four" state-owned commercial banks included the improvement of the capital structure, the reconstruction of the governance structure, the strengthening of the risk precaution of banking, etc. For the improvement of the capital structure. chinese government inputed the government fund, disposed non-performing loans, lured foreign capital, and listed on the stock market. For the improvement of the capital structure. chinese government established the central Huijin investment ltd. as a state-owned assets management organization, transferred into stock companies in terms of property, and reduced workers and organization as part of reconstructuring. Besides, chinese government adopted the glrobal standard of loan management, and lured foreign investors for the strengthening of the risk precaution of banking.
