Abstract
International migration occurs when persons cross state boundaries and stay in the host state for some minimum length of time. Migration occurs for many reasons. With the number of foreigners residing in Korea exceeding one million, 2 percent of the country’s total population, a society that once presented itself as a single race has found itself past the threshold into a ‘global’ society. But examples of friction and maladaptation are also increasing. The era of multiculturalism is an urgent reality, not a story of the future. We should build a social environment in which people from various cultural and national backgrounds can understand each other. The purpose of this study is to reveal the heterogeneity and diversity of marriage migrant from china by showing the difference in their Korean migration process, motives of getting married to Korean, adjustment of life in Korea, etc in term of their origin. And this study is examining methods of resolving cultural shocks and conflicts arising from rapid entry into a multicultural society. The survey data of 559 marriage migrant in Gyeonggi province was analyzed.
