Abstract

The color phenomenon is symbolized in language, and the color word has a basicmeaning for expressing color. This paper systematically analyzes and analyzessemantic information items presented in Korean-Japanese dictionary focusing onKorean color adjectives including basic color vocabulary among coloring words. Wealso examined the headword information, which is necessary for semantic informationanalysis. In contrast to Japanese, the characteristic of Korean color adjectives is thatvarious similar types of color adjectives are differentiated in one color series. The purpose of this study is to understand the semantic information of variousKorean color adjectives presented in the Korean-Japanese dictionary and to searchfor the direction of semantic information technology of Korean color adjectives bycomparing information between Korean-Japanese dictionaries. The Korean-Japanesedictionary aims at explaining the relationship between the native language and thespeaker in that it is a so-called transliteration dictionary in which Korean is translatedinto Japanese. Therefore, it is preferable to select appropriate words and present themin the same or similar meaning. Especially, in the dictionary of the semanticinformation of the color adjective, the relation between the vocabulary based on thebasic word should be explained. In the future, it will be necessary to find more specificways to deal with the selection problem of color adjectives, semantic information,and type information to be presented in microstructure items through systematicanalysis and construction of systematic semantic information of color adjectives Ithink. This will be the subject of further research based on this research.
