Abstract
Xu Shen(許愼), in about A.D. 100, analyzed of Liushu at the first time. Since then, the analysis of Liushu has became various in according to the scholars' opinion about the definition of Liushu. Finally they not only tried to find out the nature of Chinese characters and explained Liushu, but also analyzed the rules behind character construction. These are the foundation of the science of Chinese characters. This study tried to examine the various analysis of Liushu.
