구로사와 아키라(黒澤明)の《조용한 결투》의 시나리오의 방법에 관한 고찰 ー원작『낙태의』와의 비교를 통해서ー

本稿は、『静かな決闘』と『堕胎医』との比較考察により、監督のシナリオ作成方法と作品のメッセージを客観的に究明しようとしたものである。考察の結果をまとめると以下のようになる。 まず、監督のシナリオの書き方の特徴についてであるが、第一に、原作と比較してストーリーを「簡単」「明瞭」に提示していることが分かる。第二に、原作と比較してストーリーを「劇的に」展開させていることが確認できる。第三に、原作と比較して映画のメッセージを「簡単」「明瞭」に提示している。次に、『静かな決闘』が原作『堕胎の』のメッセージをどのように変形させたかについてだが、第一に『静かな決闘』では徹底して原作の「堕胎問題」を排除している。第二に、『静かな決闘』は梅毒に関して人間そのものの教旨の苦悩、つまり欲望と理性との葛藤を描こうとした。最後に『静かな決闘』は原作にない新たなメッセージを含んでいるが、監督は戦後の日本社会で日本人は「理性」を身につけるべきだと指摘する。
Abstract
This study investigates the director's method of writing movie scripts and the messages contained in the film by comparing "The Quiet Duel" and its original "Abortionist." The results of the study are as follows. Regarding the characteristics of the movie scripts in comparison to the original, first, the story is demonstrated more "simply" and "clearly." Second, it has more "dramatic" structure. Third, the messages are conveyed more "simply" and "clearly.“ Next, it is considered how the messages of the original "Abortionist" are transformed in "The Quiet Duel." Firstly, the issues of abortion are completely excluded in the film. Secondly, as for syphilis, "The Quiet Duel" attempts to depict the agony of human beings, the conflict between desire and rationality. Lastly, a new message is included in the film, which the director emphasizes that the Japanese should acquire an attitude of rationality in postwar Japanese society.
