필자의 일본어 교육의 테마 중 하나는 ‘창작’이라는 것이다. 이것은 일정한 패턴에 따라 이야기, 일기, 비평문을 쓰는 것으로, 지금까지 이야기 창작을 중심으로 다양한 작문 수업을 진행해 왔다. 이번에는 그러한 수업 연구의 시도의 일환으로 시와 하이쿠를 창작하는 수업을 진행했다. 이것은 그 수업 보고서이다. 먼저 시 창작에 관해서는, 이것은 일본의 국어 교육 현장에서 이미 몇 가지 유익한 수업 연구법이 이루어지고 있으므로 그것을 참고로 했다. 어떻게 하면 시를 창작하게 할 수 있을 것인가에 대해 말하자면, 패턴이라는 것이 키워드가 된다. 구체적으로는 ‘~는 ~하고 있다.’라는 문장을 3, 4회 반복하면서 마지막에 결말이 되는 문장을 넣으면 쉽게 시를 만들 수 있다. 이렇게 하여 비유법, 도치법, 가정법 등을 이용한 시를 창작하게 했다. 다음으로 하이쿠에 대해 말하자면, 이것은 기본적인 규칙을 먼저 가르친 다음 연상을 이용하면서 창작하게 했다. 외국인에게 하이쿠 창작은 어려울 수 있지만, 일본의 초등학생용 교재 등을 이용하면 외국인도 충분히 훌륭한 하이쿠를 만들 수 있음을 증명할 수 있었다. 최근에는 액티브 러닝이나 피어 러닝이라는 말이 나오고 있으며, 일방적인 지식의 주입이 아닌 배운 지식을 어떻게 활용할 것인가 하는 측면의 교육이 중요시되고 있다. 이번 시와 하이쿠 창작 수업도 그러한 차세대 일본어 교육을 개척해 나가는 시도로 제시하고자 한다.
Abstract
One of the themes of the author’s Japanese language education is “creative writing”. This involves writing stories, diaries and critical essays based on a certain pattern, and so far, various composition classes have been held, with a focus on creative writing. As part of an attempt to research such classes, this time, the author taught students to create poems and haiku. This is a report on that class. First, with regard to the creation of poetry, I referred to several useful methods of lesson study that have already been used in Japanese language education. The key word is “pattern”. Specifically, by repeating the sentence “~は~している。 three or four times and then adding a sentence to conclude the story, it is easy to create a poem. In this way, I had the students create poems using simile, inversion, and conditional sentences. Next, I taught the basic rules of haiku first, and then asked them to create their own haiku using association. Although foreigners find it difficult to create haiku, I was able to prove that even foreigners can create excellent haiku if they use teaching materials for Japanese elementary school students. In recent years, there has been a lot of talk about active learning and peer learning, and education that focuses on how to use the knowledge you have learned, rather than just cramming in knowledge, is becoming more important. I would like to present this class on creating poems and haiku as an attempt to pioneer the next generation of Japanese language education.
