Abstract
Thisarticle investigatesthe inter-industry spillovereectofR& Dstock in Japanesemanufacturing industries.A translog costfunc-tion model wasconstructedforten Japanesemanufacturing indus-tries. Mostofthe tested parametersfor industry R& D stock andR& D spilloverwere signicant,demonstrating theircontribution.R& D spilloverreduced costsin all industriesin mostperiods.Theimpact ofR& D spillover on costswasstrong in industrieswherethe industry R& D stock islarge.
