니체의 카오스에 대한 비판은 그의 철학적 관심인 우주론, 존재론, 인식론, 미학, 사회철학에서 매우 중요한 주제로 다루어지고 있다. 카오스는 그 자체로 부정성을 함축하지만, 새로운 인간을 창출하기 위한 형성력의 전제로서 요청된다. 이 글은 니체의 카오스 개념을 창조성과 관련하여 새롭게 연구하기 위해 그것의 기술적(記述的)인 측면과 규범적인 의미를 구별하면서 카오스의 극복의 가능성을 여러 가지 관점에서 모색하고자 한다. 카오스는 니체의 우주와 인간에 대한 역동적인 세계관을 보여주는 단서로서 ‘신의 죽음’으로 야기된 존재의 탈신화화, 탈인간화를 넘어 생성의 무목적성을 미학의 차원에서 새롭게 열어 보이면서 무한한 생성을 통해 자기완성을 구현하는 철학적 긍정개념이다. 전통철학이 카오스에 대한 혐오 때문에 자신의 내면세계를 도식화, 단순화하여 그러한 혼돈에서 벗어나려고 했다면, 니체의 카오스 철학은 기존의 생성과 존재, 다수와 일자로 각인된 형이상학과 윤리학의 이분법적 틀을 넘어 철학적 사유를 영원회귀의 필연성으로 확장함으로써 타자와의 사회적 관계에서 인간의 자기완성, 자기창조의 과제를 ‘삶의 기예’(Lebenskunst)라는 미학적 의미에서 역동적으로 제시한다.
Abstract
Nietzsche’s criticism of chaos is a very important subject in his philosophical interests of cosmology, ontology, epistemology, aesthetics, and social philosophy. Chaos implies negativity in itself, but is required as a premise of forming power to create a new human being. This paper attempts to explore the possibility of overcoming chaos from various viewpoints by distinguishing Nietzsche’s concept of chaos from its descriptive aspect and its normative meaning in order to newly study it in relation to creativity. Chaos is a clue to Nietzsche’s universe and a dynamic world view of human beings as a clue to demythization and dehumanization of existence caused by ‘Death of God’. Nietzsche’s chaos philosophy beyond the dichotomy of metaphysics and ethics, is affirmative notion to open up a new dimension of aesthetics as the purpose of creation. By expanding philosophical thought into the inevitability of the eternal return, we dynamically present the task of human perfection and self-creation in the aesthetic sense of ‘Lebenskunst’ in social philosophy.
