본 연구는 사이버 공간에서 사라져가는 디지털 유산들의 복원 및 보존의 필요성을 제기하고, 나아가 이를 공공의 지식 자산으로 활용하기 위한 아카이브 구축 방안을 모색한다. 국내에 인터넷이 상용화된 지 10여 년의 세월 동안 사이버 공간에는 사회적으로 큰 족적을 남겼거나 역사적으로 의미 있는 웹사이트들이 무수히 생성되었다. 그러나 이들 디지털 유산들 중 상당수가 제대로 보존되지 못한 채 소멸하여 지금은 그 흔적조차 찾아볼 수 없는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 디지털 유산을 선정하기 위하여 목적성, 공유성, 신뢰성, 공공성, 역사성, 독창성, 자원성 등 7가지 기준을 마련하고, 이를 기반으로 국내에서 시급하게 복원 및 보존되어야 할 대표적인 디지털 유산들의 사례와 그 의미를 설명한다. 또한 정보트러스트 운동을 비롯하여 국내외에서 현재 진행되고 있는 디지털 유산 복원 및 보존을 위한 시민단체의 주요 활동들을 소개하고, 민관 협력 체제를 통해 디지털 유산 아카이브 구축을 제도적으로 정착시키기 위해 필요한 검토 사항들을 정리한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to advocate restoration of digital heritage that disappear from cyber space, and to propose digital archive construction plan which is utilize public knowledge property. For 10 years since the internet is used in korea, there were many websites created in cyber space which is socially and historically meaningful. But almost of these digital heritage were disappear, so that we can not find even the traces. This study initiate seven standards to choose digital heritage and review the meaning of representative digital heritage that should be urgently restoration and conservation. This study also introduce NGO’s activity for digital heritage restoration and conservation. Finally this study check the subjects which is need to make people and government cooperation system to construct digital heritage archive.
