용서와 관용의 비교분석을 통한 차이 연구

용서와 관용은 철학을 포함한 다양한 학술 분야에서 활발히 연구되는 주제이다. 하지만, 이 둘의 관계에 관한 연구를 찾기는 쉽지 않다. 본 연구는 이 둘의 관계에 대한 분석을 시도한다. 본 연구에서 가정하는 용서와 관용의 관계는 다음의 네 가지 가짓수로 요약된다. 첫째, 용서와 관용은 같은 행위이다. 둘째, 관용은 용서의 인과적 원인이다. 셋째, 용서는 관용의 인과적 원인이다. 넷째, 용서와 관용은 독립적인 가치이다. 본 연구가 옹호하고자 하는 관점은 마지막 해석이다. 논자는 용서와 관용은 독립적인 행위이며, 같은 대상에 대해 동시에 실천될 수 없는 갈등 관계를 형성하고 있다고 주장한다. 논자는 무엇인가를 용서하는 것은 그 대상을 관용하지 못한다는 것을, 무엇인가를 관용한다는 것은 그 대상을 용서하지 못한다는 것을 뜻한다고 주장한다.
Abstract
Forgiveness and toleration are actively studied topics in various fields of study. However, it is not easy to find research on the relationship between the two. This study attempts to analyze the concepts of forgiveness and toleration and to show the relationship between the two. The author examines the relationship by assuming four cases. First, forgiveness and toleration are identical. Second, toleration is the causal cause of forgiveness. Third, forgiveness is the causal cause of toleration. Fourth, forgiveness and toleration are independent values. The perspective that this study seeks to defend is the last assumption. The author asserts that forgiveness and toleration are independent actions. Furthermore, the study reveals that these two are incompatible. In other words, to forgive something means not tolerating the object, and conversely, tolerating something means not tolerating the object.
