이 연구는 정보 네트워크 사회에서 소셜미디어를 활용한 여성 정치참여 효과에 관한 연구이다. 정보 네트워크 사회의 발전은 여성 정치참여를 강화했다는 가설과 쇠퇴했다는 가설이 논쟁 중이다. 이 연구는 여성 정치참여 관점에서 소셜미디어 사용과 남성과 여성의 정치참여 차이, 그리고 민주주의의 관계를 분석하고자 한다. 이를 위해 연구는 정보 네트워크 사회의 정치참여를 오프라인, 온라인 그리고 온-오프라인 융합형 정치참여로 세분하여 여성의 다층적 정치참여 차이를 살펴볼 것이다. 연구방법론은 이메일 설문조사를 활용한 계량적 연구방법론을 적용했다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 소셜미디어 사용에 따라 남성과 여성의 정치참여는 다른 것으로 나타났고 남성이 여성보다 강한 정치참여가 나타났다. 둘째, 그렇지만 ICT 정치참여 강화 효과를 파악하기 위해 여성만을 분석한 결과, 소셜미디어를 사용하는 여성의 정치참여 행태가 강한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 여성의 다층적 정치참여 현상에 주목하고 ICT의 정치참여 강화에 대한 함의를 제시했다.
Abstract
This study is a study on the effect of women's political participation using social media in an information network society. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the use of social media, the difference in political participation between men and women, and democracy from the perspective of women's political participation. To this end, the study will examine the differences in women's multilayered political participation by subdividing political participation in information network society into offline, online, and online-offline convergent political participation. As for the research methodology, a quantitative research methodology using an e-mail survey was applied. As a result of this study, we focused on the phenomenon of women's multi-layered political participation and suggested implications for the establishment of govermentality that can institutionalize it.
