La Experiencia Migratoria de la Nueva Comunidad Coreana en México(멕시코의 새로운 한인 공동체의 이민경험)

Abstract

The new Korean community formed in México during recent decades has come acquiring special visibility with particular meanings in Mexican society. The migration experience this community gets in Mexico, in turn, lets it´s members construe important signification with respect to the receiving society. The general aim of this paper is to explore materiality and functions those significations achieve–specified through some mechanisms, dealing also with identifying phase(s), characteristics and possible relations in the migratory process of Korean community, according to their own modalities of insertion and interrelation in different fields of Mexican scenario. In this way, the status quo of the Korean community will be explained in terms of social insertion understood as adaptation, assimilation and integration in the Mexican context.
