Tiandi quantu, a complete map of heaven and earth, was included in San cai yi guan tu,the complete map of heaven, earth and humanity, which was compiled and inscribed by Lu Anshi in 1722. The paper introduces three copies of the map: a colored copy collected in National Library of Korea, a woodcut copy collected in Kyujanggak of Seoul National University, a photocopy of the woodcut copy collected in British Library, as well as examines documental sources of the geographical information recorded in Tiandi quantu, based on which to analyze how intellectuals of China and Korea understood world geography in 18th century. The world geographical information recorded in Tiandi quantu was mainly derived from related data in Chinese official history books, Shanhaijin, Chinese world maps and some geographical materials by western missionaries. The appearance of Tiandi quantu and its spreading for Korea showed that though a little of pioneers in China and Korea accepted new knowledge of world geography that western missionaries introduced and recognized the knowledge could broaden the mind of their society, a lot of intellectuals suspected and refused them since they held traditional image of Tianxia on lack of intuitive experience.
