This study presents an investigation into the long-term trend in changes to the jobs of Dalseong Seo family, who used to live in the Daegubu district, with Family Register of Daegu and Genealogy of Dalseong Seo Family. Recorded in the two documents, 243 people showed various job distribution patterns. Many(64.61%) of them used the records of Family Register of Daegu even including eclipse years and lastly the job titles first documented in it, whereas 27.16% changed their jobs. It was interesting that job changes happened in the duties and ranks more than twice in Yuhak, a job for noblemen with the former lower by a class than the latter. The findings show that even one of the most powerful families in the Daegubu district could not take the title of Yuhak thoughtlessly. It was the same with the Hyangri members of Dalseong Seo family that had the highest possibility of job changes. The study then examined the characteristics of their jobs by the households. First, whether the title of Yuhak was obtained or not wad decided according to the legitimate and bastard son households. In the latter households, the mainstream was comprised of those who were in the Hyangri class or changed their jobs from Hyangri to duties. There were households with a similar percentage of Yuhak title regardless of legitimate and bastard son households, but the latter were more active to change their jobs to the title of Yuhak. Those households hardly included those who had a Hyangri title and seemed to have nothing to do with the Hyangri class. On the other hand, there were still households with a combination of Yuhak and Hyangri class. They exhibited various job differentiation patterns starting in the 15th generation including the households with no Yuhak, those with no Hyangri class, and those with a combination of Hyangri class and Yuhak. However, households started to emerge that only referred to Yuhak such as the household of Seo Cheon-ro, a descendant of Seo Maeng-won. Those findings suggest that status change or upgrade was rare through job changes. It was a more general case that Hyangri remained as Hyangri and Yuhak remained as Yuhak even those who were recorded in the genealogy, a symbol of union among the same family. It might have something to do with the fact that there was no increase of Yuhak class in the Daegubu district even in the 19th century unlike its outskirts.
