Early 17th century, although there were close negotiations and exchanges between the Choseon Dynasty and the Aisin Gurun, we have never reviewed in detail. “Simyang Wanghuan Ilgi(『瀋陽往還日記』)” tells us a concrete image of both dynasties negotiations in 1631. This historical material has long been studied remains the author is wrong. Therefore, first, this paper confirmed that the author of this historical material is Wi Jeong-cheol(魏廷喆) then examined its contents. In “Simyang Wanghuan Ilgi” we can see a variety of status negotiations, for example, the situation of reception for the Korean envoy of the Aisin Gurun, the concealment of Korea-Japan relations, trading medicine materials, lives of the traitor Hong Dae-ung(洪大雄), Koreans and Jušen(女眞) people extradition request by Wi Jeong-cheol, and The repurchase of Jušen one person by an interpreter. Then, this historical material is also valuable because it contains Wi Jeong-cheol’s report on the Eight Banners system of the Qing Dynasty.
Abstract
