민족고유사상에서 도출된 통일민족주의 －삼균주의와 신민족주의를 중심으로－

조소앙(1987~1958)이 제기한 삼균주의와 안재홍(1891~1965)이 제시한 신민족주의 이론은 좌우합작과 통일민족국가 건설과제를 위하여 제시한 통일민족주의 정치이론의 대표격이라 할 수 있다. 이 두 정치이론은 한국정치상사 속에 출현한 여러 이론들 가운데 독창성이나 체계성이라는 측면에서 보면 가장 돋보이는 정치이론들이다. 이 논문에서는 이 두 이론이 민족고유 사상으로부터 그 기조원리와 노선에 대한 기본아이디어를 제공받았다는 것을 살피고자 하였다. 두 사람은 민족적 정체성의 핵심요소로의 ‘국수’(민족문화의 정수이자 타민족과의 차별성)를 찾아내어 그를 유지-보전하는 것이 민족적 생존의 필수요건이라고 본 신채호 류의 국수보전론적 국학운동 흐름에 크게 영향받았다. 한말･일제기의 국학운동은 민족의 역사와 언어･종교･문화 등에 대한 연구를 통하여 민족적 정체성을 확고히 하고 자긍심을 제고하고자 하였다. 그런데 조소앙과 안재홍은 거기에서 한걸음 더 나아갔다. 민족정체성이나 자긍심의 소재를 찾는데 그치지 않고, 거기에서 민족의 미래를 열어갈 수 있는 지침과 지혜까지를 찾고자 하였던 것이다. 그리고 그 지혜를 새로운 공동체와 정치를 기획하고 설계하는 데에 반영하고 이론으로 발전시켰다. 두 사람이 특히 중시한 유산은 단군신화 속의 홍익인간사상과 신지비사 속의 균평흥방론, 그리고 다사리사상과 고유셈말에 반영된 정치철학 등이다.
Abstract
JoSoang’s Samgyunism(三均主義) and AnJaehong’s SinMinjokjuwi(新民族主義) are the representative theories of integration-nationalism in modern Korea. We can say they are the best outputs as far as originality is concerned in Korean intellectual history. And their main ideas were derived from Korean native thoughts. JoSong interpretated the main message of HongikIngan (弘益人間) idea in Dangun myth & GuenpyongHungbang (均平興邦) idea in Sinzibisa (神誌祕詞) into equality. And he drew out the ideological foundation of Samgyunism from these native ideas. AnJaehong analysed the Korean native numeral words, and found out the Korean ancient political philosophy. He thought that Korean native political philosophy were based on the idea-material dualism, welfare democracy and flexible realism. And he invented SinMinjokjuwi ideology on such thoughts. The famous unification theories, such as JoSoang’s Samgyunism and AnJaehong’s SinMinjokjuwi were elicited from the native idea of Korea. JoSoang and AnJaehong, in Korean ancient culture, found the plinciples of national integration as well as the source of national pride and identity.
