초록

The clothing relics that have been passed down since the ancient Joseon era are decisive data that visually show our cultural identity as well as displaying clothing-related data in their nature in addition to formative creativity and characteristics. We can properly conduct positive interpretation of ancient Joseon and the succeeding Korean civilization through comparative research of clothing material, form, and methods in various ages ranging from prehistoric era of Korean Peninsula and Manju region to other various countries and eras. Moreover, such research can be a means to reinterpret the meaning and location of Kija Joseon, Wiman Joseon, and Hansagun, which are placed in the center of ancient history system. This is because being Chinese political forces, they should show Chinese clothing relics or at least a combination of Korean and Chinese clothing relics. If Jun Wang, the successor of Kija, had followed Dangun Joseon, there must be characteristics of Chinese clothing in clothing relics found in the Korean Peninsula and Manju region. However, as a matter of fact, clothing relics with Korean characteristics are being found in most of Korean Peninsula and Manju region ranging from diverse eras including the prehistoric era and various Kingdoms’ eras. only in Yoseo of Manju region shoed Chinese clothing relics or combination of Korean and Chinese clothing relics. The change of political force in this area is assumed to have changed the nature of clothing. From all Korean clothing relics, when we just analyze ornament buttons which represent not only the clothing form but the whole culture, the productions in Chinese and Northern regions are later than ancient Joseon and are found in smaller areas. Nevertheless, numerous bronze ornament buttons in various sizes are found in relics of Bronze era and Iron era in most of Korean peninsula and Manju region, ancient Joseon's territories. The form of ornament buttons used in clothing have been passed down to diverse countries after the collapse of ancient Joseon and although there had been slight changes in the characteristics depending on the region, they had been widely used in Buyeo, Goguryeo, Ye, Han, and Okjeo. In this sense, the form of ornament buttons has been continuously used in clothing since Hongsan Culture period before ancient Joseon and is considered to be an important ornament method for the Korean race. Therefore, after conducting comparative analysis on ornament buttons of ancient Korean race and reviewing diachronic transition, it is possible to assume that Kija Joseon, Wiman Joseon, and Hansagun cannot be placed in the center of ancient Korean history system. As written in Samguk Yusa, ancient Korean history must be described that ancient Josun's territory included Korean Peninsula as well as Yodong and Yoseo areas of Manju region, but collapsed and gave birth to the ages of diverse kingdoms. Moreover, Kija Josun, Wiman Joseon, and Hansagun cannot be the focus of Korean history for they are events occurred in western border of ancient Joseon, which is today's Yoseo, and not political forces created in the center of ancient Joseon.
