Abstract

We studied the difference analysis of research funding scale and research performance between male and female researchers. We analyzed the difference by independent sample T-test and regression. There are a few former studies for the performance analysis between male and female researchers, but this is a very broad scope research in the view of targets. They are almost all 4 years university faculties in Korea of all research area. This result is very important for establishing future research support policy in that we give a valuable real information. We summarized our result as follows. First, for the research funding scale there is a statistically meaningful difference between male and female. Male researchers are supported more funding than female. Second, for the research performance of the KCI papers, female researchers produced more KCI papers than male. On the other hand, male researchers produced more SCI papers than male. Third, we analyzed the difference of performance for the researchers who never produced papers for 3 years. For the government funding, male researchers gained more funding than female and female researchers produced more KCI papers than male.
