본 연구는 도시재생 뉴딜사업의 참여가 지역애착도에 미치는 영향을 주민의 인식 및 주민만족도를 매개로 하여 실증분석하였다. 도시재생 뉴딜사업은 물리적 개선뿐 아니라 사회적 지속가능성 강화를 목표로 하며, 주민의 참여와 인지도의 형성을 통해 사회적 영향을 파악하고 관리하는 것이 중요하다. 따라서 이를 분석하여 사업 성공과 지역애착도 향상을 위한 지역 발전을 이끌 수 있을 것이다. 이와 관련 본 연구는 참여 및 인식, 주민만족도와 지역애착도에 관한 선행연구들을 검토하고, 충주시 시민들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 실증분석하였다. 분석결과, 독립변수로 설정한 도시재생 뉴딜사업 참여와 종속변수인 지역애착도는 서로 직접적인 영향관계는 나타나지 않았지만 두 변수 간의 관계에서 사업인지도와 주민만족도는 매개효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 도시재생 뉴딜사업에 주민들의 자발적 사업 참여가 선행되면 사업에 대한 인지도가 높아지고, 사업을 인지한 주민들은 스스로 마을을 가꾸어 나가는 것에 높은 만족도를 느끼는 것을 알 수 있었다. 나아가 앞선 요인들을 바탕으로 지역애착도 역시 높아진다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 도시재생 뉴딜사업을 비롯한 주민주도 도시개발 관련 사업을 통해 주민만족도와 지역애착도를 높일 수 있는 함의를 제시하였다.
Abstract
This study examines the impact of participation in Urban Regeneration New Deal projects on residents’ sense of attachment to their locality, mediated through residents’ perceptions and satisfaction. Urban regeneration New Deal projects aim not only for physical improvement but also the enhancement of social sustainability. It is essential to gauge and manage their social impact through resident participation and awareness. Analyzing this can lead to project success and the advancement of local development through increased local attachment. In this line the study reviews existing research on resident participation, perception, satisfaction, and local attachment. It also conducts a survey of the citizens of Chungju City to carry out empirical analysis. The results indicate that, while there was no direct causal relationship between the independent variable, participation in Urban Regeneration New Deal projects, and the dependent variable, local attachment, there was a mediating effect observed between these two variables through project awareness and resident satisfaction. These findings suggest that when residents voluntarily participate in Urban Regeneration New Deal projects, their awareness of the projects increases, and residents who are aware of the projects tend to experience high satisfaction as they take an active role in developing their communities. Furthermore, it suggests that local attachment is also strengthened. It implies that it is important for enhancing resident satisfaction and local attachment through projects related to citizen-driven urban development, including urban regeneration New Deal projects.
