Although there are growing economic concerns on livestock diseases, researches on the issue are limited. This study combines data of livestock diseases with an economic method to measure the economic impact of livestock diseases. To do so, this study uses a spreadsheet program and estimates direct economic losses of individual farms from livestock diseases such as PMWS. Also, this study formulated a livestock life-cycle model and estimated economic losses of farm using various ranges of mortality. The analysis in the study can be utilized for individual farmers, policy makers, and other researchers to estimate the economic loss from livestock diseases.
