본 연구의 주목적은 청소년들이 미래의 직업세계에 잘 적응하도록 효율적인 사회화 촉진 방안을 모색하는 것이다. 먼저 미래사회의 특성을 직업세계의 변화를 중심으로 조망하여보고 이를 바탕으로 현대 청소년의 사회화의 특징과 사회화에 장애가 되는 청소년 배제의 관점을 분석하고, 청소년 사회참여의 이론적 근거를 제시하였다. 청소년 사회참여의 효과는 개인적 역량개발을 도모하여 직업세계에 입문하도록 도와주고 지역사회에 기여하며 청소년의 지위에 대한 사회적 인정을 받을 수 있으며, 순조로운 성인으로서의 지위를 획득할 수 있도록 하는 길임을 논증하였다. 아울러 성인으로서의 기준이 모호해지는 미래사회의 특성상 청소년의 개념을 지위 인정을 위한 사회적 개념으로 받아들여야함을 주장하면서 청소년 역량강화모델의 방향과 우리나라의 청소년 사회참여 정책에의 미래지향적 기조를 제시하였다.
Abstract
This study is a portrait of the changing world of future work and the participation of youth within it.. The main purpose of this study is to investigate ways to enhance the socialization for youth to prepare for their future involvement in work. A number of characteristics related to youth socialization weredelineated, and this was followed by a theoretical outline of youth social participation. The study focuses on how youth participation can empower their ability to enhance their careers as well as how they can contribute to their community, which in turn can lead them to acquire maturity and other attributes of adulthood. The process of socialization through community participation can reduce youth alienation, discouragement and frustration, smoothing their path to adulthood. An example of a youth community participation program, based upon the Time Dollar movement is introduced to emphasize the advantages of the youth participation and suggest an appropriate youth empowerment model. Possible directions of a policy aimed at Korean youth participation are also discussed.
