지역아동센터 이용아동의 급식서비스 경험과 건강향상

본 연구는 지역아동센터 이용아동의 관점에서 급식서비스의 경험이 건강향상에 미치는 효과를 확인하였다. 지역아동센터 아동패널조사 1기자료 중 579명에 대한 서열로짓모형을 분석하였다. 분석결과, 이용아동의 주관적 건강향상평가에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 개인 특성 및 가정 내 특성, 그리고 급식서비스 평가에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 센터 내 특성들을 통제한 상태에서, 급식서비스 경험이 긍정적일수록 지역아동센터 이용 후 건강향상에 긍정적으로 응답할 확률이 통계적으로 유의하게 증가하였음을 확인하였다. 구체적으로, 급식서비스가 매우 도움이 되었다고 응답한 경우 건강향상에 매우 도움이 되었다고 응답할 예측확률이 38.1%로 기준그룹(급식서비스가 전혀 도움이 되지 않았거나 도움이 되지 않았다고 응답)의 예측확률인 9.3%에 비해 28.8% 포인트 증가하였다. 이러한 결과는 이용아동의 관점에서 급식서비스의 긍정적 경험은 건강향상에 효과적인 기제로 작용한다는 것을 지지할 수 있는 근거라 볼 수 있으며 향후 지역아동센터 급식서비스에 대한 질적 향상과 인프라 지원이 뒷받침됨으로써 이용아동의 체계적 건강향상을 도모할 수 있는 기초자료로 사용될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This study aims to examine the relationship between foodservice experience and the health improvement of children and adolescents in Community Child Centers. We used an Ordered Logit Model to analyze the data of 579 participants drawn from the first wave of the Community Child Center Child Panel Survey. After controlling for individual and household characteristics, which can affect subjective evaluation of the health improvement, the results showed that positive foodservice experiences at Community Child Centers significantly predicted positive health improvement. This finding provides evidence to support the positive role of Community Child Centers’ foodservice in health improvement at the service user level. This evidence can be used to develop the quality and infrastructure of foodservice for the health improvement of vulnerable children and adolescents in the future.
