여성 결혼이민자의 사회적 신뢰와 시민적 참여: 시민적 효능감과 차별 경험의 조절된 매개효과를 중심으로

초록

여성 결혼이민자의 사회적 신뢰가 시민적 참여에 미치는 효과를 분석한다. 시민적 효능감을 매개변수로, 차별 경험을 조절변수로 설정한다. 자료는 ‘2020년 전북 다문화가족실태조사’ 원자료를 활용한다. 종속변수인 ‘시민적 참여’는 ‘시민적 참여 Y₀’(종합), ‘시민적 참여 Y1’(모국인 중심 모임), ‘시민적 참여 Y2’(한국인 중심 모임)의 세 유형으로 구분한다. 첫째, ‘시민적 참여 Y₀’에 대해서는 사회적 신뢰, 시민적 효능감, 차별 경험이 통계적으로 유의미한 효과를 가진다. 또한, 차별 경험은 사회적 신뢰가 ‘시민적 참여 Y₀’에 미치는 효과를 감소시킨다. 둘째, ‘시민적 참여 Y1’에 대해서는 사회적 신뢰는 통계적으로 유의미한 효과를 보이지 않지만, 차별 경험과 시민적 효능감은 각각 통계적으로 유의미하다. 셋째, ‘시민적 참여 Y2’에 대해서 사회적 신뢰와 시민적 효능감은 통계적으로 유의미한 효과를 보이지만, 차별 경험은 통계적으로 유의미하지 않다. ‘사회적 신뢰’가 매우 약한 여성 결혼이민자는 모국인이 중심이 된 모임에 참여하지만, 한국인이 중심이 된 모임에는 참여하지 않는다.

Abstract

We analyzes the effects of female marriage immigrants’ social trust on civic engagement. The mediating effects of civic self-efficacy and the moderating effects of discrimination experience are verified to analyze the complex effects of major variables. The raw data of the Jeonbuk Multicultural Families Survey in 2020 was analyzed. The dependent variable, ‘civic engagement’, was classified into three types: ‘comprehensive civic engagement’ (Y₀), ‘civic engagement in gatherings centered on compatriot immigrants’ (Y1), and ‘civic engagement in gatherings centered on indigenous Koreans’ (Y2). The research findings are summarized as follows. First, social trust, civic self-efficacy, and discrimination have statistically significant effects on Y₀. In addition, discrimination reduces the effects of social trust on Y₀. Second, social trust has a statistically insignificant effects on Y1, but discrimination and civic self-efficacy are statistically significant effects on Y1, respectively. Third, social trust and civic self-efficacy have statistically significant effects on Y2, but discrimination has statistically insignificant effects on Y2. We found that female marriage immigrants with very weak ‘social trust in Korea’ participated in gatherings centered on compatriot immigrants, but did not participate in those centered on indigenous Koreans.
