Abstract
- Effects of Coix lachryma-jobivar. mayuen stapf. ext. on lipidlowering and serum glucose wereinvestigated in hyperlipidemic rat. Concentration of glucose and triglyceride in plasma showed a tendence to decreasein Coix lachryma-jobivar. mayuen stapf. ext. groups. However the values of 100mg/kg treatment group showed nosignificant difference in control group. Plasma total cholesterol and LDL-chol. showed a low values than those ofcontrol group. However HDL-chol. showed no significant difference in all treatment groups. Concentration of livertotal cho. and triglyceride showed a tendence to decrease in Coix lachryma-jobivar. mayuen stapf. ext. groups.Concentration of plasma and liver TBARS showed a low values in Coix lachryma-jobivar. mayuen stapf. ext. groups.The values of GSH-Px , SOD and CAT activity showed a tendence to increase in the Coix lachryma-jobivar. mayuenstapf. ext. groups.
