Abstract
The migration tendency of European Union after 1980s has developed in various ways. For example, the former emigrant countries like Spain and Italy are recently changed into immigrant countries. The immigration flow from South America into the European Continent is formed, and the immigrants reach to ca. 200,000 annually after 2000. The integration of East European countries into EU induces a new migration trend. This article analyses the migration trend of European Union after 1980’s, which has recently developed very complicated, and it tries to explain the framework and regulations of migration and asylum. Chapter II describes tendencious change of migration and asylum policies of European Union before and after the collapse of ‘realsocialist countries’. Chapter III analyses the institutional foundations and the regulations of migration and asylum, on which the migration tendency is based.
