사범대 학생을 위한 계열별 글쓰기의 필요성 - 이화여자대학교 <우리말과 글쓰기> 교과목을 중심으로 -

최근 대학 교양 글쓰기의 변화된 특징으로는 계열별 글쓰기의 심화를 들 수 있다. 전공별로 필요한 기초의사소통 능력을 향상시킬 필요성이 제기된 까닭이다. 그러나 실제 운영 현황을 살펴보면 강좌를 계열별로 구분하고 있을 뿐, 내용면에서는 기존의 글쓰기 수업과 별다른 차이를 발견하기 어렵다. 이에 각 대학은 해당 문제를 극복하고자 계열별 글쓰기 교재 개발에 주목하게 되었다. 그러나 현재 개발된 교재 대부분이 인문과 사회를 하나의 영역으로, 공학과 예체능을 하나의 영역으로 구분하고 있음이 한계로 지적된다. 이는 인문과 사회의 특수성은 물론, 공학과 예체능의 차이를 배제한 접근이기 때문이다. 이와 같은 문제는 사범대의 경우 더욱 심각하게 다가온다. 사범대는 동일한 단대 내에서도 국어와 영어 교육으로 구분되는 ‘인문’, 사회과･교육학과･유아교육으로 구분되는 ‘사회’, 수학과 과학 교육으로 구분되는 ‘자연’ 영역으로 세분화되고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 현재 사범대 학생들을 위한 별도의 글쓰기 프로그램은 거의 찾아보기가 어렵다. 예비 교사인 사범대 학생들에게 말하기와 글쓰기 능력은 실제 교육현장에서 활용해야 할 현실적인 문제이다. 따라서 사범대 학생을 대상으로, 교사로서의 인성과 자질은 물론 실제 교육현장에서 활용할 수 있는 구체적인 글쓰기 교육 프로그램을 구안(具案)할 필요성이 제기된다.
Abstract
Current trends in writing pedagogy are to specify academic writing education based on required writing methodologies in each department. The present state of academic writing education, however, has no substantial distinctiveness in comparison with its former curriculum inasmuch as schools merely split writing classes according to students’ majors. The text books are also problematic in that they are merely categorized into two areas: 1) social-human sciences and 2) natural science, music, art, and physical educations. In a college of education, a text book for writing education should be specified in that the college consists of several categorized departments such as humanities (Korean language education and English language education), social science (social studies education, education, and early childhood education), and natural science (mathematics education and physics education). Since 2009, furthermore, the curricula of a college of education and a graduate school of education have included academic writing courses as requirement. This change of writing education is a conditio sine qua non and needs to be more specified when considering the demand of teachers for logical writings in public education, and when considering the growth of a private education market in which tutoring students in logical writings is being executed. Not only pedagogical variance but also specified curricula to train students in a college of education by its departments as teachers who can practically perform their expertise in an educational field are required.
