지체장애인의 고용에 관한 영향요인 연구 - 사회참여의 매개효과를 중심으로 -

초록

장애인의 고용은 사회통합과 삶의 질을 높이는데 주요한 역할을 하는 요인이다. 보다 효율적인 고용촉진 전략을 모색하고 사회참여와 고용의 관계를 검증하기 위하여, 본 연구에서는 장애인의 사회참여와 고용에 영향을 미치는 요인과 장애인 고용의 영향요인에 관한 사회참여의 매개효과를 다중 회귀분석과 로지스틱 회귀분석으로 검증해 보았다. 연구 대상은 전국에 거주한 성인 지체장애인 421명이었고, 인구사회학적요인, 장애관련요인, 재활보조기구 소유여부, 타인과의 외출 동행시간, 권리주장성, 외적장애물에 관한 인식수준을 독립변수로 설정하고 사회참여를 매개변수로 하였으며, 고용여부를 종속변수로 설정하여 베런과 케니(Baron and Kenny, 1986)가 제안한 매개효과 검증 절차로 결과를 도출하였다. 연구 결과 여성에 비해 남성이, 장애정도는 경증일수록, 타인과의 외출동행시간은 길수록, 권리주장성은 높을수록 고용될 확률이 높은 것으로 나타났고, 사회참여는 고용에 영향을 미치며, 각 독립변수와 장애인 고용과의 관계에서 매개효과를 지니는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과에 따라, 고용촉진을 위한 다양한 사회참여의 기회 제공과 지원 정책을 마련해야 한다는 것을 알 수 있었고, 장애인의 정당한 권리주장성은 고용과 사회참여에 매우 주요한 요인임이 밝혀져 향후 장애인의 자립의식과 적극적 의지 고취를 위한 접근이 필요하다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

Abstract

The employment for the disabled is very important factor to improve social integration and quality of life. The purpose of this study is to consider employment promotion strategy and examine the relationship between social participation and employment. Using the multiple regression analysis and logistic regression analysis, This study examines factors affecting on the employment and social participation for the physically disabled, and the mediating effect of social participation. The data came from the survey of the physically disabled in Korea(Through random sampling, 421). Independent variables are individual factors, outing time with supportive persons, possession of aid tools, individual civil rights and conception of external barriers. Mediating variable is social participation and dependent variable is the employment status. Using the multiple regression model proposed by Kenny and Baron, the mediating effects of social participation was analysis. The results indicate that the factors affecting on the employment for the disabled are gender, degree of disability, outing time with supportive persons, and civil rights. Thus the relationship between social participation and employment have mediating effect. The results of this study suggest that supportive policies for employment promotion are needed to improve opportunities for social participation. Besides, This result implies that the willness of civil rights is very important factor to employ and participate.
