Department of Neurology, Department of Diagnostic Radiology*, Yonsei University Wonju College of Medicine Internal carotid artery(ICA) occlusive diseases usually produce strokes in the middle cerebral artery territory or the border zone area between the middle and anterior cerebral arteries. Occipital lobe infarcts are traditionally attributed to vertebrobasilar diseases. Rarely, ICA occlusion produces infarction in posterior cereral artery(PCA) territories when the PCA arises primarily from the ICA. We describe a patient with a fetal PCA originating from the ICA, occlusion of which resulted in PCA and anterior choroidal artery territory infarctions.
