Department of Neurology, School of Medicine, Eulji University Department of Neurology, School of Medicine, Keimyung University* Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is a complication of the hormone therapy for ovulation induction. Thromboembolism with neurologic deficit rarely occurs in cases of OHSS. We report a patient who developed cerebral infarction probably due to thromboembolism associated with OHSS. A 34-year-old woman received human menopausal gonadotropin and human chorionic gonadotrophin therapy because of her sterility. She developed multiple cerebral infarcts in the right middle cerebral artery territory with hemoconcentration and alternation of the coagulation factors. This case suggests that OHSS should be considered one of the causes of cerebral infarction in young women.
