본문의 총체적 읽기에 대한 제언- 에스겔서 연구의 과거 그리고 오늘의 과제 -

초록

본 연구는 에스겔서의 총체적 읽기에 대한 제언을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 먼저 독일어권의 연구들을 중심으로 에스겔서 연구에 있어 중요한 발전의 경과에 관해 조망한다. 본문의 생성과 토대에 관해 질문하는 오늘날의 비평적인 예언서 연구들은 세 가지의 학문적 경향으로 제시된다: 에스겔서의 문학적인 통일성을 지지하는 경향, 경향 중심적이고 문헌비평적으로 온건한 경향, 그리고 마지막으로 문헌비평적으로 상당히 급진적으로 앞서가는 경향이다. 이러한 연구의 경향들은 역사적 발전의 경과를 따라가며 중요한 자리매김을 한 연구자들에 대한 언급으로 설명된다. 각 경향들의 설명에 있어 다음의 세 가지 질문이 늘 함께 다루어진다: 1) 어떻게 그리고 왜 연구들의 입장들이 그리고 그것과 함께 연관된 방법론적 독창성들과 전제(가설)들이 생성되어졌는가? 2) 무엇을 통해 각 연구들은 구분되어지는가? 3) 어떤 영향을 뒤따르는 연구들에 주었는가? 연구사는 시간의 경과에 따른 연구의 성장을 살핀다(문학비평적 연구 - 문헌비평과 편집비평의 결합 - 편집비평으로부터 발생한 새로운 비평적 분석들). 이러한 연구사의 개괄로부터 먼저 역사비평적 연구가 가진 해석학적 한계점이 지적된다. 그리고 그것의 대안으로 정경비평적 입장의 수용을 통한 최종본문으로부터 읽기와 저자로부터 읽기라는 명제아래 본문의 총체적 읽기에 대한 유용성과 유효성에대해 논한다. 이것은 최종적으로 본문의 연구에 있어 공시적인 연구가 선행된 상태에서 통시적인 연구가 또한 뒤따라 이루어져야 함에 대한 제안이다. 이럴 때에만 본문의 통일성과 본문의 역사성이라는 두 중요 과제를 놓치지 않을 수 있을 것이며, 또한 동시에 역사비평적 연구가 직면해 있는 해석학적 한계상황을 돌파할 수 있게 될 것이다.

Abstract

A Study on holistic Readingin the history of researches on EzekielSi-Young Leem(Lecturer at Hansea University, Old Testament)This paper investigates holistic Reading and the history of researches on Ezekiel in the light of significant stems of development. Mostly, it focuses on the researches done in Germany. Today, studies of prophetic books of the bible investigating roots and creation of the book of Ezekiel are represented in three different academic approaches and research methodologies: a tendency focusing on literal consistency of the text, a moderate tendency of following trend and literacy criticism and a radical tendency supporting literacy criticism. These tendencies on each research can be explained on referring significant researchers following the steps of development. These tendencies are always followed with these three questions: How and why these different approaches were taken and how the hypothesis relating to the approaches were made up, Through what means are they categorized? and How does the methodologies give impacts on other researches? To deal with the history of researches on the book of Ezekiel as a whole, it observes the development of the researches in chronological order: literary criticism, literary criticism combined with form criticism, redaction criticism, and critical evaluation which have subsequently originated from the redaction criticism. At the end of this paper, it argues how recent development of the researches on Ezekiel should be directed from the perspective of holistic Reading. The study aims to reveal limits on historical critical methods with the help of the historical research and to argue on usefulness and effectiveness of reading with a view of canonical criticism and holistic Reading related to a method of focusing on the author. Consequently, this paper suggests that diachronic research should be undertaken after a synchronic research. If only follows the suggestion, it would not fail to keep two important goals-coherence and historicity of the text and it will be able to overcome the limitation on the hermeneutics. key word: holistic Reading, Ezekiel, history of researches on Ezekiel, literacy criticism, form criticism, redaction criticism
