초록

본 연구에서는 소방공무원의 인구학적 통계에 따른 외상후스트레스장애(PTSD) 실태현황에 대한 경향분석을 통해 어떤 변인이 소방공무원의 외상후스트레스장애(PTSD)를 예측하는데 유의한 영향을 미치는지 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 경기지역에 근무하는 소방공무원 1,980명을 대상으로 외상후스트레스장애(PTSD) 증상에 따른 인구통계학적 변인들과의 관련성을 측정하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 소방공무원의 외상후스트레스장애(PTSD) 진단율은 16.4%로 일반인들의 외상후스트레스장애(PTSD) 유병율 1.6%에 비해 매우 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 외상후스트레스장애(PTSD)집단은 비외상후스트레스장애(non-PTSD)집단에 비해 성별, 연령, 혼인관계, 근무년차, 현재직무, 근무형태에 따라 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 즉, 여성이 남성보다 외상후스트레스장애(PTSD) 집단이 높았고, 직무별로는 구급대원이 외상후스트레스장애(PTSD)집단이 높게 나타났다. 마지막으로 본 연구는 소방공무원의 심리적 안정과 정신건강 향상을 위한 기초자료의 수집을 하였다는데 의의가 있으며, 이에 대한 후속연구를 위한 제안을 제시 하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze trends of PTSD according to the demographic statistics of firefighters and to investigate whether the variables have a significant effect on predicting post - traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) of firefighters. For this purpose, 1,980 firefightersworking in the Gyeonggi area were measured for demographic variables and their relationship with PTSD symptoms. First, the rate of diagnosis of TSD) was 16.4%, which is higher than the prevalence of PTSD of 1.6% in the general public. Second, PTSD group showed significant differences according to sex, age, marital relationship, year of work, present job, and type of work compared to Non–PTSD group. The PTSD group was significantly higher in women than men. In terms of job tasks, firefighters who work in emergency service have higher PTSD group than others.. Finally, this study is meaningful in that it collects the ground data for the improvement of mental health and psychological stability of firefighters, and suggests a follow–up study for this.
