한국 기업의 멀티프로젝트관리 성공요인에 관한 탐색적 연구

최근 기업들이 대부분의 업무를 프로젝트 형태로 추진함에 따라 다수의 프로젝트를 동시에 관리하는 멀티프로젝트관리에 대한 학계의 관심이 높아지고 있고 선진국을 중심으로 이와 관련된 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그러나 한국기업들이 해양조선, 자동차, 플랜트엔지니어링 등의 분야에서 글로벌 경쟁력을 키워 온 것과는 달리 이들의 멀티프로젝트관리에 대한 연구는 거의 찾아볼 수 없다. 본 연구는 한국기업들의 멀티프로젝트관리 성공요인에 관한 가설을 탐색적으로 도출하는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 Gemünden et al.(2010)의 멀티프로젝트관리 성공요인에 관한 프레임워크를 참조모델로 활용하였으며, 국내 기업들을 대상으로 설문을 통해 데이터를 수집하였다. 멀티프로젝트관리 성과가 높은 그룹과 낮은 그룹을 대상으로 항목별 점수비교 및 t-test를 실시함으로써 멀티프로젝트관리의 성공요인에 관한 가설을 도출하였다. 이 때 멀티프로젝트관리의 성과는 경영진 능력, 프로젝트포트폴리오의 성공 및 사업성과로 측정하고, 성공요인은 (1) 멀티프로젝트관리자의 책임과 역할 (2) 멀티프로젝트관리의 전략적 측면 (3) 전술적 측면 (4) 운영적 측면으로 나누어 측정하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 멀티프로젝트관리 당사자들의 책임과 역할이 명확할수록 그에 따른 성과가 높게 나타날 것이라는 가설과 싱글프로젝트의 표준을 잘 지키는 기업 혹은 프로젝트 점검을 잘 하는 기업일수록 멀티프로젝트관리의 성과가 높게 나타난다는 가설이 도출되었다. 본 연구는 한국기업을 대상으로 멀티프로젝트관리에 관한 연구의 시발점을 제공하고 있다는 점에서 의의를 찾을 수 있다.
Abstract
This study aims at establishing exploratory hypotheses for Korean firms' multi project management(MPM). We collected surveyed data, on the basis of the framework of a German study, Gemunden et al.(2010), of Korean firms. Through the analysis of multi-project performance scores of a group of high performing firms and a group of low performing firms in the multi-project management, we drew out following exploratory hypotheses. A firm with more clear responsibility or more clear role in multi project management, than other firms, is expected to reveal better performances in multi project management. A firm with better performance in keeping project standard or project control in single projet management, than other firms, is expected to have better performance in multi project management.
