초록

Objective : Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a common disease associated with a group of symptoms of sneezing, nasal congestion, and nasal pruritic. Laser acupuncture is rapidly gaining in popularity globally. This systematic review aims to assess the effectiveness of laser acupuncture on allergic rhinitis. Methods : We searched the 10 electronic databases, which were PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, China Science and Technology Journal Database, Wanfang data, China Biomedical Literature Service System, Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System, Korean studies information service system, and Research information sharing service. We extracted the relevant method of laser acupuncture with randomized controlled studies. Total effective rate, Total Nasal Symptom Score (TNSS), Eosinophil Count, serum IgE, and side effects. Meta-analysis was conducted by RevMan 5.4. Results : 12 RCTS involving 1004 participants were included. Compared with Manual acupuncture (MA), Laser acupuncture (LA) plus MA was significant improving both total effective rate and TNSS. LA alone was significant inhabit level of Eosinophil Count compared with MA or Western medicine. The most frequent acupoint was LI20. Side effects were generally mild. Conclusions : These results showed that laser acupuncture might have potential effect. However, the number of studies was too small and the method was so heterogeneity. This systematic review provides evidence that support laser acupuncture as complementary treatment for allergic rhinitis.
