=목적: 포괄적인 표본 집단을 선정하고 대량의 표본 집단을 통해 저위험 한국여성에서의 클라미디아 감염과 임질의 유병률과 고위험 인자를 선별하고자 한다. 연구 방법: 2005년 9월부터 2006년 1월까지 서울, 경기, 경인, 충청, 제주 등의 2, 3차 병원의 산부인과를 방문한 환자 중 18세 이상의 여성 2,410명을 판단 표본추출방법으로 하였다. 병력 및 산과력 외에 개개인 생활 정도 및 성 습관 등을 문진을 통해 조사하였으며 질내 가검물을 채취한 후 중합효소연쇄반응 검사법을 이용하여 검사하였다. 통계학적 분석은 기술 통계 (descriptive statistics)로 전체 및 병원별 대상군을 95% 신뢰구간으로 구간 추정 (interval estimation)하였고 범주형 자료 분석 (Chi-square test, Fisher's exact test)을 이용하였다. 결과: 클라미디아 감염은 연령 (P=0.0485), 결혼유무 및 상태 (P=0.0086), 흡연 (P=0.0148), 음주 (P=0.0077) 외에 성 배우자의 수 (P=<0.0001)와 밀접한 관련성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 임균감염은 성병 기왕력 유무에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였으며 (P=0.036) 성병 기왕력이 있는 군에서 더 많은 발생률을 보였다. 클라미디아와 임균감염이 동시 발생은 성병 기왕력 (P=0.0454), 성교횟수 (P=0.0306), 및 성배우자 수 (P=0.0009)가 많을수록 유의하게 높은 빈도를 보였다.
