본 연구에서는 고령운전자의 사고유형에 따른 사고 심각도 분석 연구를 수행하였다. 고령운전자의 교통사고 발생 시 신체적 특성에 따라 사고의 심각도 경중이 다르게 나타남을 확인하였다. 사고유형별로는 정면충돌의 coefficient 값이 높은 것으로 보아 사고 발생 시의 사고 심각도가 높은 것으로 분석되었고 특히 곡선 지점에서는 고령운전자들의 사고 심각도가 높게 분석되었다. 이는 고령운전자의 특성상 좌우 회전 등과 같이 변화하는 교통환경에 대한 상황인식 및 대처능력 미흡으로 인하여 대형 사고를 유발하고 있음을 보여주고 있다. 고령운전자는 일반운전자에 비해 반응시간이 느리고 시야가 좁은 것으로 알려지고 있어 도로선형이 불량한 곳에서는 운전 시 많은 어려움을 느끼는 것을 분석된 결과를 통하여 유추할 수 있다. 차량유형별로 분석한 결과에 의하면 승합차가 가장 안전한 것으로 분석되었다. 이는 승합차에 내구성이 좋은 SUV 차량이 포함되어 있어 많은 사고 발생 시의 심각도가 타 차량에 비해 낮은 것으로 판단된다.
Abstract
This study performed the analysis of accident seriousness by the accident type of senior drivers. The analysis showed that the physical characteristics of the aged resulted in seriousness when an accident occurred. As for the type of accident, the head-on collision showed a high value of coefficient suggesting its seriousness is high in accident. Especially in the curved spot, the accident seriousness of the aged was analyzed to be high. It suggests that to the characteristics of the senior driver, the lack of recognition and response to the selectional situation like left or right turn causes a large accident. It is analogized through analysis that the senior drivers feel difficulties in driving through the curved road as their reaction time is slower and their vision is narrower than that of younger ones.
